On the afternoon of 6th December, 49 principals with the 21st Session Principal Training Advanced Class in Anqing City arrived at Anqing Foreign Language School’s east campus to conduct inspection. According to reports, this training session would last two months and center on a series of themes such as the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, school management philosophy, students’ comprehensive development, balanced development in school, faculty management as well as the construction of campus culture. On the other hand, the advanced class consisted of four parts, which were massed theoretical study, visit, inspection& reference, theoretical research and exchange in addition to training achievement display. Altogether there were 49 principals and vice principals from around Anqing City attending this advanced class.
In the first place, Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli and other school leaders warmly received each headmaster participating in this training program. Madam President presented a brief introduction about Anqing Foreign Language School and received the headmaster group all the way.
In the second place, the principal team toured our campus. On the traditional opera and etiquette track, Director Li Ping in charge of narration made detailed introduction on the construction status of our traditional opera and etiquette culture.
In the third place, in Anqing Foreign Language School’s pavilion, each principal enjoyed the opera culture exhibits, consulted the school-based curriculum and various data regarding Anqing Foreign Language School’s quality-oriented and characteristic education, experienced the Six Feet Lane culture moved into our campus and visited the opera studio theatre. During the whole process, President Madam Huang Wenli and Director Li Ping handled the narration work and answered questions from each principal.
In the fourth place, on the way to the teaching building of the Junior High Section, schoolmasters came to the classroom corridors to check the classroom instruction conditions from outside the windows. They were all impressed by the tidy and cozy classroom environment and culture as well as the harmonious and well-organized classroom atmosphere.
In the fifth place, when passing the bulletin board, schoolmasters showed keen interest towards the picture exhibition in regard to Anqing Foreign Language School’s students’ summer camp activities during this year’s summer vacation in the USA and Canada. In addition, the headmaster team greatly appreciated the achievements obtained by our school in international education and external exchange.
In the sixth place, all principals arrived at the students’ quality expansion base covering 25 acres. Director Liu Xiaozhang in charge of the base expansion activities introduced the detailed conditions of the base and all headmasters were quite surprised that our school possessed such a wonderful expansion base. In the meantime, they were so deeply impressed by the fact that Anqing Foreign Language School attached great importance to quality-oriented education that a great many principals enthusiastically took part in various kinds of items in person to feel the pleasure brought by the outreach activities!
In the seventh place, after the tour around the campus, all principals went to the School Lecture Hall where Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli introduced and showcased in detail students’ on-line growth evaluation system autonomously exploited and used by Anqing Foreign Language School. As a matter of fact, the students’ growth appraisal information management system was an innovation model appropriate for managing students’ basic information of growth and establishing a real-time communication channel with parents. Evidently, her function played an effective promoting role in assisting Students’ Information Management Department and administrators, understanding students’ growth conditions in school, building a virtuous interaction between home and school in addition to convincingly propelling the implementation of quality-oriented education. Hence, the rating system actually paid high attention to students’ process assessment and finally formed a transition to objective summative assessment. Obviously, all headmasters were so deeply inspired by the fabulous evaluation system that they positively communicated with President Madam Huang Wenli to conduct in-depth understanding.
To sum up, the one-hour-and-a-half inspection and exchange concluded pretty soon. Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli and other school leaders warmly saw the inspection team off and sent another invitation letter for them to come back again. This time Anqing Foreign Language School acted as an object for the advanced class members to visit and inspect, which was an affirmation for our school’s work. Nonetheless, there is a long road ahead and we need so much thinking and exploration. Therefore, all staff in Anqing Foreign Language School shall strive ahead as always!
